Pay Rate: $35.24 - $38.77Duration: 4/30/2025Job Overview
The Analytical and Method Validation Chemist performs and
interprets complex scientific analyses requiring a high degree of
knowledge and expertise, preparing, and analyzing samples to detect
and quantify the presence of halo acetic acids, dalapon, inorganic
ions, and semi-volatile organic compounds via GC-ECD, ion
chromatography, and GCMS, in addition to other analyses as
determined by the program. The position also assists in designing
and conducting validation studies, supports the implementation of
new technologies, and performs routine laboratory functions to
support testing activities.Core Responsibilities: Analytical
Testing
- Prepares and analyzes samples qualitatively and quantitatively
using accepted preparation, methods, and advanced analytical
techniques.
- Ensures compliance with QA requirements for assigned
analyses.
- Verifies and records instrument functionality.
- Evaluates quality control measures to ensure that sample
results meet acceptance criteria.
- Handles and manipulates hazardous chemicals and high-pressure
gases.
- Decides when analytical instruments are not functioning
correctly, advises management and repairs or requests service call
as appropriate.
- Decides when to use appropriate personal protective
equipment.Duty: Method Development and Validation
- Develops and prepares method validation plans using guidance
from program and Division procedures under the direction of senior
staff.
- Conducts productive literature searches for troubleshooting
existing methodologies, developing new methodology and identifying
new technology.
- Generates well documented data as part of validation and
verification of new
- methods and/or equipment as required by regulation or program
and Division policies.
- Develops and prepares validation and verification reports based
on study findings.
- Develops and prepares standard operating procedures (SOPs).ATA
